Building a creator-led system that moved Grindr from utility to community.
Unusual partnered with Grindr to close a perception gap. The brand had scale and cultural heat, but was still too often reduced to ´just a hookup app´. To shift that narrative, we built Grindr’s first Always-On, sentiment-first creator ecosystem, structured around emotional jobs rather than reach alone. Across 2024 and 2025, the work embedded the brand into queer internet culture through recurring creator storytelling, breakout cultural moments, and performance-led distribution. The result was a system that moved the brand from transaction to connection, from utility to community, and helped make Unusual-led influencer Grindr’s most recognized brand asset in the 2025 Brand Lift Study.
